What is the Zempler + Coconut offer?

New Zempler users may be able to get Coconut free for 2 years when they sign up to Coconut, apply for a Zempler bank account through the app, and connect that account to Coconut.

The offer is worth up to £238 and gives you access to Coconut during the offer period, so you can track income, record expenses, keep digital records and get ready for Making Tax Digital.

Who is eligible for the Zempler offer?

The Zempler offer is for new Zempler customers who apply for a Zempler bank account through Coconut.

To qualify, you'll need to follow the offer steps in Coconut, connect your new Zempler account, and meet the offer terms.

Will I be charged after the Zempler offer or free trial period?

You won't be charged without knowing what plan you're moving onto.

If you claim the Zempler offer, Coconut is free during the offer period, subject to the offer terms. If you start with the 14-day free trial, you can try Coconut before deciding whether to continue with a paid plan.

Is Coconut on the HMRC-approved list of MTD software?

Yes. Coconut is HMRC-recognised software for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.

That means you can use Coconut to keep digital records and send your MTD updates to HMRC securely when the rules apply to you.

Can I file my income tax Self Assessment for free?

Coconut can help you prepare for MTD for Income Tax, keep digital records and manage your tax information in one place.

Whether you access Coconut through our Zempler offer, the 14-day free trial or another plan, you'll have access to all of our bookkeeping, MTD and Self Assessment features.

What's included free vs paid?

The free options give you a way to try Coconut, or access Coconut for longer through the Zempler offer if you're eligible.

On the 14-day free trial, you won't be able to submit MTD updates or file a Self Assessment, but all of these features will be fully accessible through the Zempler offer.

Do I still need an accountant?

Not always. Coconut is built to help sole traders, landlords and CIS subcontractors keep records organised, track income and expenses, and stay ready for Making Tax Digital.

An accountant can still be useful if your tax affairs are more complicated, or if you want personalised advice. Coconut can make that easier too, because your records are already kept in one place. Read more about how you can work with Coconut and your accountant for smarter bookkeeping.

Can I switch over from another MTD provider?

Yes. If Coconut feels like a better fit, you can switch from another MTD software provider.

You'll need to connect your bank account, get your records up to date and make sure your digital records are ready before you start sending updates through Coconut.
