Terms and Conditions – Coconut Promotional Offer Linked to The Times and Times+

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the promotional offer made available by @Coconut Platform Limited trading as !Coconut (“Coconut”, “we”, “us” or “our”) in connection with a promotional campaign featured in TheTimes and/or made available through Times+.

This is a promotional initiative solely offered by Coconut. Neither The Times, Times+, nor Times Media Limited is the promoter of Coconut’s offer, and Coconut is solely responsible for the operation, administration and fulfilment of the promotional subscription benefit described in these Terms.

By participating in this promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this Coconut promotional offer, you must meet all of the following conditions:

1.1 You must be a resident of the United Kingdom and aged 18 or over.

1.2 You must sign up for Coconut through the dedicated promotional landing page, link, code, tracking route or other redemption method specified in connection with The Times promotion and/or the Times+ benefit.

1.3 You must be a new Coconut customer, meaning that at the time of sign-up you must not:

(a) already hold an active paid Coconut subscription;

(b) already be using Coconut under another free trial, complementary offer, or partner-funded promotion; or

(c) have previously redeemed this promotional offer.

1.4 You must complete all onboarding and account activation steps required by Coconut.

1.5 This offer is limited to one redemption per person, per business, and per Coconut account, unless Coconut expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

2. Promotion Period

2.1 This promotion will commence on 05 April 2026.

2.2 The promotion may be featured by The Times in print and/or online and may subsequently continue on Times+ as a benefit for eligible paying digital subscribers.

2.3 The free 12-month subscription element of the promotion is limited to the first 500 eligible customers who validly redeem the offer in accordance with these Terms.

2.4 Once all 500 free subscriptions have been claimed, the promotion may continue on a 50% discount basis only, subject to Coconut’s discretion and continued availability through the relevant promotional route.

2.5 No fixed end date applies unless Coconut states otherwise. Coconut reserves the right to amend, suspend, withdraw or end the promotion at any time.

2.6 At the end of the applicable 12-month promotional period, any free subscription period will automatically expire, after which it will be the customer’s responsibility to decide whether to take out and pay for a subscription in order to continue using the service. Where the promotion provides for a 50% discount, that discounted rate will apply only for the initial 12-month period and the subscription will thereafter revert to the full recommended retail price in force at such time.

3. Offer Details

3.1 The first 500 eligible customers who successfully sign up in accordance with these Terms may receive a free 12-month subscription to Coconut’s applicable Making Tax Digital subscription plan.

3.2 Once the first 500 free subscriptions have been claimed, or where Coconut decides to continue the promotion on a discount-only basis, subsequent eligible customers may receive 50% off Coconut’s applicable monthly or annual Making Tax Digital subscription plan for 12 months from activation.

3.3 The applicable plan, billing cycle and pricing shown at the point of sign-up will determine how the discount is applied.

3.4 This offer is non-transferable, has no cash value, and no cash alternative or substitute will be provided.

3.5 This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other Coconut promotional offer, discount, referral arrangement, free trial, partner promotion or introductory pricing unless Coconut expressly states otherwise in writing.

4. Activation and Allocation

4.1 Eligibility for one of the first 500 free 12-month subscriptions will be determined by Coconut by reference to successful completion of the required promotional sign-up and activation process.

4.2 A place within the first 500 free subscriptions is not secured merely by viewing the offer, clicking through, beginning the sign-up process, or entering your details. The free subscription is only secured once Coconut confirms successful activation under the promotion.

4.3 If the first 500 free subscriptions have already been allocated by the time your sign-up is completed and verified, you will instead, if otherwise eligible and where the promotion remains live, receive the 50% discount offer described in clause 3.2.

4.4 Coconut’s records regarding eligibility, redemption route, activation timing and promotional allocation shall be final, save in the case of manifest error.

5. Subscription Renewal and Charges

5.1 At the end of any free promotional period, your subscription will automatically renew onto Coconut’s standard paid subscription at the price in force at that time, unless you cancel before renewal.

5.2 At the end of any 50% discounted period, your subscription will automatically continue at Coconut’s standard full subscription price then in force, unless you cancel before renewal.

5.3 Coconut’s current standard pricing was noted as £21.99 per month or £129.99 annually, although pricing may change from time to time.

5.4 It is your responsibility to manage your subscription and cancel before the relevant renewal date if you do not wish to continue onto a paid plan.

6. Customer Responsibilities

6.1 You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information during registration, account creation and onboarding.

6.2 You must comply with Coconut’s standard website terms, product terms, terms and conditions, and privacy notice, as published on the Coconut website.

6.3 You are responsible for ensuring that Coconut’s services are appropriate for your own bookkeeping, tax and compliance needs. Nothing in this promotion constitutes legal, tax, accounting or financial advice.

7. Disqualification and Revocation

7.1 Coconut reserves the right to revoke, refuse or remove eligibility for this offer where:

(a) you provide false, misleading, incomplete or inaccurate information;

(b) you fail to satisfy the eligibility criteria set out in these Terms;

(c) you attempt to redeem the offer more than once;

(d) you misuse the promotion, act fraudulently, or seek to manipulate the promotional allocation process; or

(e) you breach these Terms or Coconut’s standard terms of service.

7.2 In such circumstances, Coconut may immediately withdraw the promotional benefit and apply the standard subscription charges that would otherwise have been payable.

8. Changes to or Withdrawal of the Promotion

8.1 Coconut reserves the right to modify, suspend or withdraw this offer at any time and for any reason, including for legal, regulatory, technical, operational or commercial reasons.

8.2 Any such change will not affect customers who have already validly activated the offer before the relevant change, unless the change is required to prevent fraud, abuse, manifest error or legal/regulatory non-compliance.

9. Liability

9.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

9.2 Subject to clause 9.1, Coconut shall not be liable for:

(a) any inability to access or redeem the promotion due to website issues, technical problems, device incompatibility, internet failure or platform downtime;

(b) any indirect or consequential loss;

(c) any loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings; or

(d) any failure or delay arising from circumstances outside Coconut’s reasonable control.

10. Data Protection

10.1 Any personal data processed by Coconut in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with Coconut’s Privacy Policy, available at: https://www.pennineventures.co.uk/privacy-policy.

10.2 Where you engage with the promotion through The Times or Times+, your personal data may also be processed by the relevant publisher or platform operator in accordance with its own privacy documentation and terms.

11. General Provisions

11.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

11.2 Any delay or failure by Coconut to enforce any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

11.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

11.4 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except where applicable consumer law permits proceedings to be brought in another part of the United Kingdom.
